ABOUT THE SHOW: 

 

After apprenticing in the bands of Johnny Cash, Lester Flatt, and Doc Watson, Marty Stuart forged a career carrying forward country’s traditions, finding success as a recording artist, songwriter, and multimedia emissary for country music.

​

A mid-’80s deal with Columbia Records served up the Top 20 hit “Arlene,” but a move to MCA Records proved more fruitful. In 1990, he hit the Top 10 for the first time with the title track of his album Hillbilly Rock. In 1991, he released “Tempted” and the title track became a Top 5 single. In the early ’90s, he also teamed with Tritt for such hits as “The Whiskey Ain’t Workin’” and “This One’s Gonna Hurt You.”

Today, Marty Stuart, the five-time GRAMMY® Award winner, Country Music Hall of Famer, Congress of Country Music Founder and AMA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, joined by his longtime band, The Fabulous Superlatives, announces the release of Space Junk, their first-ever full-length double LP of original instrumentals.

In a career spanning over 50 years, dozens of albums, and too many shows to count, Marty Stuart is still restless and pushing himself to new heights. Space Junk showcases the inimitable interplay and bond between Marty and his longtime band The Fabulous Superlatives.​
